I have a 3.5/4.0 & a 4.79/5.0 GPA.
I’m in the top 10% at a TX high school.
I’ve taken 5 advanced courses each year.
I’m in basketball & 2 community service clubs.
Do I have any chance at AES…& what SAT/ACT score would I probably need?
(Asking because I’d love to go to UT Dallas but wouldn’t be able to afford without full tuition)
At scholars day they made it clear that aes will come down to gpa and rankings and sat/act scores. ECs mean little. So it will come down to how far you are up in the 10 percent and I would aim for test scores north of 30 and 1400. The higher the better being outside the top 5% of your class. Apply early and you can always get more merit if your scores improve.
@Artful4art
Oh so I can apply now & then send in new test scores later?
Yes. Send whatever scores you have and any improvements will be considered till the money runs out. Just keep in contact with them. You can probably qualify for the terry scholarship. Go to scholars day in November if you want an app waiver.
@awesome7 Did you get any AES award? If so, what amount?
