<p>I’m not arguing how much race affects admissions, I’m just saying that while you can easily change your major choice, you can’t change the race you were born with.</p>
<p>Yes, and you also can’t change your socio-economic status, your hometown, the classes offered at your high school, etc. You can somewhat change your academic strengths and interests, as well as your extracurricular passions, and you can certainly change what elective classes you take and what extracurricular activities you pursue. You can definitely change your GPA (at least while you’re still taking classes) and test scores, and you have the absolute most control over your essays.</p>
<p>There are many different components of who you are as an applicant; some of them are mutable and others are not.</p>
