Does anyone know if the same AA policies apply for transfer applicants as they do for regular admissions? Is URM status as heavily emphasized? Does economic status play as much of a role? Those are big factors playing against me...I'm a white female requiring no aid. :(

I don't want to start a heated argument on this touchy subject, like the ones I've seen on other parts of this site. I was just wondering if anyone has heard or read anything on this. Thanks.

Those schools you are talking about have very few transfers...I think it's like 100 applications per year at Williams and I think they take like 5 to 10 each year. I don't think being an URM will really help in this case as they aren't trying to build a class (as would be the case in freshman admissions.)

Don’t know because there are no published stats (that I’ve seen) and even if there were, the numbers are sometimes so small, it would be difficult to tell.

My best guess, and it’s a guess, is don’t count on it.

CR, if this thread turns into an AA debate, it will be closed quickly, those discussions belong on the specified threads on the College Admissions forum.
