Hello. I'm a very happy international student for being able to go to UCI. I have as my intended career software engineering, and I respect very much UCI's program. (Specially now that it was released they'll be offering a Software Engineering degree). But now I'm afraid of having my admission revoked.
I took Diff. Equations as one of my courses this semester. I did not need that class; but since it was the last math class offered at my community college and I have to take at least 12 units, I figured that class was a good choice. Well, I couldn't regret it more. I got the hardest instructor for the topic, which would be ok if wasn't the fact that all my other classes are very time consuming and that this class wasn't "important" to me. It was unfeasible to do well in all classes adding the fact that I'm working on a project for a company located back at my home country (Unpaid).
I wanted to drop it, but I couldn't. Not only I would not have 60 units by the end of spring anymore (59 instead...) but also because International students can't drop below 12 units. In a way I "dropped"; I decided leave the class alone and just get an F on it. That was an alternative given by my counselor, since I can apply for renewal without repetition (Honored by the UC). But there is the problem. If I get all B's on my current classes and the F, my GPA would drop to 3.16 for the end of the spring. My requirements says that I need a minimum of 3.2 prior to transfer, but I believe they meant by the end of spring. I can still get all A's, but just to be safe I wanted to know if applying for the renewal in case I get only B's can save my spot.
Hopefully someone will be able to clarify those fears so I can enter in contact with admissions having a better constructed idea of what are the consequences of my "failure" this semester.

Thanks very much for your attention.
