there should be an after college life thread :P.

Basically where someone gets a job offer is where they generally move, that is why I went down to PHX for a year, then its back home to look for work in Cleveland, maybe Columbus or Toledo too.

Yeah there should be an After College thread. Haha.

How is Phoenix for someone who just graudated college? Is it really that dangerous as everyone says? Is the city bustling with pedestrians or is it a car city?

Phoenix is very much a car city. They are putting in a light rail, but everyone down here has a car. There are almost too many cars. Not to dangerous from what I have seen. Actually pretty safe, then again I don't venture too far beyond Tempe/Phoenix/Scottsdale area.

I'd actually like to move back to India/pakistan for a couple of years and work there as a Doc (not permanently, but just for a couple of years), so i guess New Delhi or Peshawar or w/e

I'd like to work in a city for a professional sports team in baseball or football...Marketing or Community Relations...prefer St Louis (go Cards :) ). Ideally I'd live in a rural area and commute...born and raised in the country but want to work in the city but not live there. Other places I could see myself are Texas (any of the big cities), Chicago, Denver, Cinci/Cleveland, and some others. Or maybe work for a Div I school in the athletic dept, since I work in one right now for a parttime internship...who knows. Things will probably change by the time May 2010 rolls around

I plan to do auditions for amusement parks and cruise ships during my senior year, and if I get one of those, then I would live where the job is. If I don't get anything set by the time I graduate, I plan to move to NYC and audition for plays or try to get work as a costumer. And if nothing works out, then I'm not sure yet where I'll go. Somewhere cheaper where I can find work.

Plan to move to NYC as an ibanker.

^^you and 1/2 the Business Major forum poster ;)

At least I have set goals for my life unlike most of the people I know.

It wasn't a slam, just an observation. It's good to know what you want in life.

DC perhaps? Virginia? North Carolina? Those are probably the most likely at this point, but I'd love to live in Rome or Venice for a while. I definetely know I won't be going back home, home really doesn't do anything for me anymore, especially if my family is elsewhere...

I plan to start looking for jobs my senior year and take almost anything I'm offered if it's a decent salary and wouldn't require me to live IN a huge city. I don't like the traffic and pollution. I'd love to move somewhere different (climate, people) than I have grown up with, since it will probably only be a few years at the first job until I find something I really want.

If I don't find a job right away, I would probably move back home as my school isn't far from home, and either look more for jobs or consider grad school.

I would love to in the DC area, so there, Maryland, Virginia...somewhere around there. But in reality, at least right after college, I'll take living wherever I can find a job, or move back in with my parents for awhile. I'm not too idealistic.

I am most likely going to leave Michigan, since I highly doubt any jobs will be available after I graduate thanks to the people who voted for our governor to serve a second term.

^^Lol. What city though?

After I graduate, I am going to go back home and get foot surgery. Whoohoo. I will probably be stuck there for a while until I find a job because I don't think I can stand another summer in my apartment. Not entirely sure where exactly I'm going to look for jobs, but I'm thinking I should probably move to a lower-cost area of the country because around here, I don't think I'd make enough to be able to live alone in a nice apartment and actually save any sort of money.

My parents apparently think that I'm going to come home and be there for about a year, looking for jobs. They also apparently think that I'm either going to somehow magically find a job in the same county (despite the fact that there really aren't any companies I could actually work for there), or want to do a 2-hour commute, one way, to get to a job in a different area while living at home to 'save money'. I'd prefer to save my sanity, thanks.

Lol.

If youre looking for cheap places. You can try: Charolette, Raleigh, Phoenix, Tuscan, Portland, Denver.

I would love to live in San Francisco or Chicago...and work as a reporter for a big newspaper. But I'm still in HS, so I know nothing ;).

Portland is pretty sweet, too...and it's cheaper there. That's another city it would be cool to work in.
