After getting wait-listed, is one even considered for schools they did not originally apply to?

I initially applied to CAS, Stern, and Tandon with my first choice being CAS. I no longer have an interest in Tandon and Stern but now have an interest in CAS and Steinhardt. Given that I did not originally apply to Steinhardt, will the admissions committee even consider me for a place in that school if it were to open up?
