I've checked every day to see if the tuition billing system is up. I keep getting the message that it will be available the week of August 10th.... I'm starting to not believe that.
Anyone know anything or have any input?

I have been doing the same as you. Checking everyday since Monday and getting the “Aggie e-Pay is down” message. My son’s scholarship and out-of-state tuition waiver updated last week under financial aid. But no bill yet. Considering the tuition is due next Friday, I hope they get it up soon.

thanks gxgal7, my daughter also has a scholarship that hasn’t shown up on the scholarship area.
One other thing, the applicant.tamu.edu is now set for the class of '14 applicants. I don’t know how to check to see if her college transcripts have shown up. That transcript had not shown up - I called TSU to have them resend it and now I dont know how to make sure it has arrived - well besides calling.
Maybe tomorrow…

Tuition is now due September 1st as A&M tries to implement a new bill payment suite that should be available soon. A&M is sure damn crappy when it comes to tech. -_-

klparker312 - Maybe try to check on Howdy somewhere? Even though Howdy is kind of confusing to navigate.

ALERT: DO NOT PAY TUITION USING CREDIT CARD - 2% SURCHARGE. SET UP ACH-E-CHECK FROM YOUR BANK SAVING / CHECKING ACCOUNT THE SERVICE IS FREE.

CODE:
AggiE-Pay and tuition convenience fees
Why do I have to pay a convenience fee when paying for tuition and fees with a credit card or e-check?

Is there a standard or pro-rated amount to the customers who elect to pay
their tuition and fees using the web payment system?

Credit card companies (such as Visa, MasterCard, and so on) charge merchants (in this case, Texas A&M) fees for using their services. Rather than make everyone’s tuition go up regardless of how it is paid, Texas A&M took the approach that we feel is more fair. Those who pay for tuition using credit cards pay a 2% surcharge ($3 minimum) to help Texas A&M cover part of the card company’s fees. Those who pay using ACH “webchecks” do not pay a surcharge because the cost to Texas A&M for that kind of transaction is negligible.

This is an epic fail. Most of my friends @ other universities have paid their bills and have had their aid money disbursed.

I need to pay rent soon :/

do we also pay for dorms on AggieE-pay?

Rofl; This is truly an epic fail by A&M. God damn it, I would’ve paid my tuition/fees/dorms/whatever when I signed up for my NSC. -_-

reloadedxp - I would think you pay almost everything (dining can be paid separately) on AggiE-pay.

Epic fail? They are allowing you to gain interest on your money a little longer, I have no problems with paying later rather than sooner. Not one.
I am a bit irritated by the “will be available the week of Aug 10th…” however, working in data processing for over 20 years I totally understand - stuff happens.

Dorms are included in AggiE-Pay.

Personally, I don’t know what the big deal is. Who cares that it’s down? Most people at A&M don’t pay tuition until a week before it’s due, or even less. Loans are not dispersed until then anyways. Texas A&M is using a new Howdy system that they are just now implicating, and with any new software, there will be bugs. My past two years at A&M under their old system has been flawless. Patience is a virtue. If it’s really such a big deal drop out of A&M and apply to those other schools y’all seem to praise so much.

question >_>

if my “balance due” is negative (my financial aid (scholarships) > my cost for the semester), do I need to do anything on that site?

I don’t really get how scholarships work.

Balance due is negative on my daughters too. Her Texas Tomorrow Fund covered almost all of the tuition. Her scholarships will cover the part of tuition TTF would not cover: her sports pass, parking pass, architecture fees.
The balance due, which is negative, seems to be the amount of her scholarships - the above fees not covered by TTF.
I am not an accountant, but it probably done in accounting fashion. I expect that negative amount to be deposited into our account so I can purchase the rest of the various “stuff” she will need to start at Aggieland

stbs, have you filled out how you want your refund dispersed? You can do that on Howdy.

Lol. I was just a little irritated. -_-

And obviously some people are awaiting their Fall '09 grades. :]]

? Their Fall '09 grades? Fall '09 hasn’t started… I am currently waiting for my Summer '09 grades.

he means he is awaiting his grades to transfer to “those other schools ya’ll seem to praise”

A negative balance will be refunded to you. If you want it directly deposited to your bank account, you have to sign up for it.

Thanks, the email they sent out a couple of days ago answered my question. (Scholarship disbursement begins Aug 21)

wait, they haven’t disbursed scholarships yet?

No, scholarship and loan disbursement begins this friday. They’ve said that direct deposit refunds should show up in your bank account 2-3 later.

are scholarship recipients previously notified?
