that's exactly what i did. i submitted my commonapp + supplement and then 'celebrated' for finishing apps... then checked commonapp this morning and realized i didn't pay, so paid then. hopefully it doesn't matter, bc i did this for another school and they said it was fine (she laughed actually).

well depends (i think). for commonapp, on the payment tab there's a link for nyu's payment. if you click on that it takes you directly to payment page.

As long as you submit the commonapp before NYU downloads the last batch, it's going to be fine. Jesus. They aren't going to say 'OH NO SHE CANT APPLY' because you're 3 hours past the deadline, or something. Remember -they WANT you to apply.

colleges tell you all the time that all your materials need to be postmarked by the deadline.

in reality, the admission office is so chaotic around this time that they don't really keep track if its in on time or not.. unless its REALLY LATE.

the first few weeks after the deadline is basically a time of collecting all the needed materials. reviews don't happen until later.

That's not necessarily true, I have to apply past the transfer deadline of April 01 due to some personal problems, I called NYU about this and they said as long as they recieve the material no more than a week after the deadline it will be accepted.
