ahh possible disaster?

I was reading over my university of michigan essay to tweak for another college's supplement and I read one of the sentences saying " ... so that it'd repeat greetings to eventually (I never succeeded because the local tool store didn't sell sensors). I forgot to put in "everyone" after eventually.

how will this affect me? it was definitely carelessness on my part--i don't know how it happened after reading over the essay at least 5 times

Don't worry. Everyone makes mistakes. On the IB exam we don't get nailed for spelling errors, so I imagine one tiny word can not do too much to you.

IB exam graders are relatively understanding, though, compared to other graders.

I realized that I made a similar mistake after submitting my USC application. I wouldn't stress over it too much; the adcoms are going to be breezing over your essay in a matter of 2 minutes and probably won't even notice too much.

On the contrary, I've heard that adcoms are extremely picky with lapses in spelling and grammar... but then again this is hearsay. It certainly doesn't help.

^ the umich rep. that came to my school said the exact opposite...so the OP should be fine...
