Ahhh am i late???

Thanks, UTHousing and MidwestMom (and others) for shedding some light on this.

I'm still a little confused about the $200 enrollment deposit and the $300 "advance payment" that UTHousing referred to.

I'm using MidwestMom's step-by-step explanation from post #9 to help me understand this better - please tell me if I have it wrong or right:

You apply for UTexas admission. Then you apply for housing.

Then you wait.

Then you get your letter of acceptance.

Then you pay your <<< $200 >>> enrollment deposit so they know you are really coming.

Once they have your enrollment deposit, they send you a housing contract. This is when you <<< make your $300 "advance payment" and >>> choose your dorm - you get to pick a first, second and third choice. The order of assigning your dorms and your dorm room is determined by when you applied for freshman year housing.

So is the above correct?

Also, which, if either, of those deposits is refundable if you decide not to go to UT and inform UT before May 1?

the housing payment is refundable if you do not go to UT and you decline your admit offer on or before may 1.

and yes the above is correct. Both deposits are applied to your first bill.

I live at The Castilian right now and if are looking to the best alternative to UT's housing -- its The Castilian. It's also by far the cleanest dorm in town!

Wait a minute ... I am international ... I didnt know about all this until i read the above posts ... they are asking for 50$ .. but what if i dont get accepted in UT ? Will i get my 50$ back if i pay via. credit card ?

No - the $50 is an application fee and you will not get it back even if you don't get accepted.
