Ahhh decisions!@!

i am having so much trouble deciding

i love new york…A LOT…but i dont want to choose a college just because of a city…plus i can go to study in new york for grad school if i really wanted to

arghhh so hard to decide???
so i want to double major in journalism and visual arts and minor in business (or something to that extent)

i love both schools soo much. at bu, i got a university scholarship and i got into the university professors program, which is like a school within a school with only about 30 students. they have professors like elie wiesel and sheldeon glashow, and they had saul bellow (until he died :frowning: so its pretty nice)…plus you get a personal advisor who is a professor there.

at nyu, i absolutely loved visiting and all of my friends say they see me as a new yorker. i kinda feel like a need structure for undergraduate school, but both bu and nyu are city schools and i dont care about the “college experience” BS that much. i dont really need a campus badly so i am fine with both bu and nyu in that sense.

if someone could help me decide…that would be nice. or, at least, tell me what you think.

How much will it cost to attend NYU? Is money a factor in your decision?

I find this common. So many kids trying to decide between NYU and BU.

Your opportunities in the Univ. Professors Program will be incredible along with the amazing internships and special advising. Many kids come down to these two choices as Kinshasa pointed out. I think there is another thread below comparing the two so look over the other threads as well as the LiveJournal links. Both great schools. More artsy kids at NYU if you fit that profile. At BU you can take classes in SMG. Don't know if you saw the inside of the new SMG building but is is astonishing.

We are naturally biased toward BU and having a campus may seem unimportant now but may be a factor once you are living there. Boston really caters to college students.

Oh...just noted the half tuition scholarship. This will end up being about 71K and with NYU being slightly higher you are talking an extra 75-80K. Even if money is not an issue you may want to consider that this extra funding may be used toward summer abroad programs at BU or grad school. The kids w/ Univ. Scholarships often get additional funds, not a huge amount, toward the summer abroad and other programs too.

HAHA i was going through the same dilemma a few weeks ago...I chose BU obviously.
