i studied i studied i studied........... ehhhhhhhhhh it was my second time. it was a rainy day i felt like crap. im ready to take the exam, then right in the middle of the first section math, i gotta go to the bathroom. i freaked out and couldnt wait till the break. and i just store at all the questions nothing meant sence anymore..........ehhhhhhh CR 520 W 490 W 530. man im stupid......... most the people here have perfects. lol i hear some people calling 2200 pretty low, and im like ? in all my class i was the smart one i was the only one who knew thier crap, ehhhhhhhhh i need a gun. what am i gonna do? how some numbers can make you feel like **. what do i do take it agian, i am already in commuity college i was applying for spring. i needed good scores to get out. ehhhhhhhh

Ease up there little buddy! You needed good scores for transfer? Was this the SAT? Have you tried ACT? If this is your second testing what did you do btwn. 1 and 2 in your endeavor to obtain a better score? Perhaps this is not your thing. Maybe you have big time anxiety. I would consider scheduling again and see if you can make it further into the exam w/o freaking.

My advice is to first off calm down. This is a minor set back in the scheme of things. So what if you spend one more semester at a community college, and then attend a 4-year in the fall.

Just relax, and go ahead and apply to the places you want to go. But if you don't get in, then don't get worked over it. Just plan to take the SAT again, and take a light coursload next semester to give you ample time to prepare for it.

You'll be ok, trust me.

Some people do better on the ACT. Both of my kids did substantially better on the ACT, and they both took SAT prep courses and neither took ACT prep courses. The next ACT is 12/10 and the registration deadline is 11/4. Go to the ACT website (http://www.actstudent.org/testprep/index.html) and take a free practice test to get a feel for the pace, also check out the scoring because it's different from SAT, and get to the test site early and go to the bathroom. Also, don't drink coffee the morning before the test, coffee is a diuretic. ;-)

A nice and informative post. The SAT is not everymans game that is for sure. As to the coffee thing.....you can actually have your doctor prescribe 1 tablet to get you through the test if this is a nervous problem......not a big deal. Most problems can be worked through. Maybe you should practive going to the test site/location a day or two ahead of time.....you know drive there, walk around, feel the air, release some tension. Going ahead of time can help you get through the test day anxiety.

there are people who have had below 2000 and 32+....

Go figure.

Go figure is not really a part of the issue here. The ACT is much more like an achievement test.....much easier for the thinking styles of certain students. Most schools will accept either. A student should be sure to do ACT w/ writing if that writing score is needed for certain schools.

I love the ACT personally.... I hate the SAT personally

Many folks I know take both exams......not knowing how they will find them....many people do well on one and horribly on the other.

why didn't you just call and cancel your scores when you knew you didn't do so hot?
