*Sigh* ... I suck at standardized tests!

I'm very disappointed in myself and I have the worst luck ever. I don't know what to do anymore :\ I'm running out of options AND time. As people were excited to see their ACT scores online for Monday night, I was dreading it. When I finally got the nerve to check today ... Fail. Back in May I took the SATs and that was a failure too. I took a prep class and took the PSATs and I still received a low score :( I thought taking the ACTs would hopefully be better for me, but that obviously wasn't the case ... I woke up on that test day morning with a runny nose, a terrible sore throat, and a headache. I couldn't think clearly and was very disorganized. I lost my admission ticket! It was just an awful, awful, awful day.

I was planning to apply early action, but I guess that's not happening ... And no, I will not post my scores. They're toooo embarassing. I have around an unweighted 3.8 GPA and I have several extracurriculars and volunteer hours. The only thing that's bringing me down are those crappy SAT/ACT scores :( What's wrong with me?! D:

I’m in the same situation

Yay for failures! We can vent together. Woohoooooo!

S*** happens dude. You just got to pick yourself up and move on. Choose whichever test you did better on (using a score conversion table), study hard for that test and sign up for the next test date. You really can’t do much more than that. Good luck.

I’m going to take the act one more time in October and then i will have to use those scores for applying, so i am going to study my a** off and hopefully do well! good luck to you to on your testing! and remember testing isn’t the only important thing that colleges look at! Just make everything else strong for the small things that you lack! good luck

It’s always easier said than done.

I guess I did better on the ACT, but the science section was killer.
I was thinking of taking both the SAT and ACT again, but I guess focusing on one test is better.
Thanks ACTTester, I’ll need it.

Thanks ForTheWin, good luck to you too!

^ If you have the time, then by all means take both tests again. Seeing as there were anomalies last time you took the tests (such as being sick), your scores could change. However, I feel like you can get a good idea where you stand by simply taking practice tests.
