Ok so the UW Honors application was supposed to be postmarked today so I had it all done by 2 pm and I just had to submit the UW application and print it to enclose in the app and get to the post office by 5!
But it wouldn't freakin print!!!
I am SO angry. So I just had to send it in with a lame note, about "technical difficulties."
Ahhhhhhhhhh!
I am so mad!!!!!

u shouldve sent it online?

yes, it's due at 11:59 right? cuz I have one more thing to do

The UW application is online, but the Honors app has to be sent in by mail, they don't have an online version for it.

They said you're supposed to mail in a paper copy with your Honors app. Have you mailed your Honors essay in yet, pacific_fleet?

i'm applying for scholarships which is also due today but not honors, (I don't think 3.6 gpa and 2000 SAT is gonna get me in even if my essays are good)

pacificfleet, what do you mean that you're applying for scholarships and its due at 11:59 today?

do you just mean that you're sending in your UW admissions application, or do we have to do some other stuff by 11:59 to be eligible for scholarships?

i JUST finished my application and i hope i didnt miss something

Is the application fax-able?

mamba_namba, from what I understand if you turn it in tonight, you will automatically get considered but don't quote me on that

Can you fill it out and email it as an attachment, explaining the difficulties you encountered...noting that you will overnight it (an exact copy of the one you emailed) tomorrow the minute the post office opens?

FedEx.........FAX.....Kinko's open 24/7.

good thinking, hazmat!

Plus the OP is on the West Coast.......how is this a problem? I just don't see it.

For some reason, I cannot access the application on my home computer and so I can't email, but that is a really good idea.
I wish I hadn't been working on my CMC app and I'd read that, because I could have gone to Kinkos, but now it's 11:57 and would be marked Dec. 2 anyway.

I don't know what the OP is, but I had to mail it by 5 and it wouldn't print out by then, so that was the problem.

I'm gonna print it tomorrow morning at school and mail it that day, and call them to see what their policy is on that.

Anyway, I've calmed down a little, but I still am hating computers right now!

A suggestion, while it may not help this time around, it may at another time...always, always make a back up of your work...to a disk, or at minimum place a copy out in network shared data or mail a copy to some one, just to get if off your hard drive. I have personal experience with this. During a move, I was rushed and had stored some last-minute, unbacked up work...that had taken quite some time and effort to complete. You guessed it, the hard drive was damaged during the move. A local data transfer operation that claimed it could work miracles finished the job and completed killed the drive and I lost the work. I was unwilling to agree to the multiple thousand dollar solution and sending the drive across country, so I learned a really painful lesson. So I never ever fail to back up, even if it's to mail a copy to a friend with instrux to hold it for me.

OP means "original poster". That's you.

Good luck in your application process; we're all routing for you!

Thanks for your encouragement, it's really nice of you to say so!

I'm sorry to hear about how you lost your files! That's the worst!!

I usually do things at the last minute, and it's never really hurt my grade or outcome or anything, except for this time. My computer is really unreliable, so I guess I'm gonna have to plan ahead. I can't access the Common App at home anymore either! I dont really know what the problem is, but oh well.
