Dear Financial aid Appeals Committee:
My name is xxxx I am writing to ask you to reconsider your office’s decision to suspend my financial aid for the upcoming 2014-2015 school year. My financial aid was suspended due to my GPA and I aware that it was the cause of my suspension.
During the summer course I was overwhelmed trying to take care of my mother, and provide for my family. I have to take my mother back and for to the doctor’s office because she have now had 4 knee surgeries and has just founded out about her high blood pressure. I am the only person that is there to help my mother with her problems. During this time I lost focused with my school work. I took an online class thinking it would help with the problems, but instead it did not. I had a lot of misunderstand with the class and I didn’t ask the professor for assistance or get tutored when I needed it but instead I chose to go study and figure things out myself. Therefore, I end up with a grade that is not passing. Due to these circumstances I have been rendered ineligible to receive financial aid. Without financial aid I will be unable to continue my education because I need the funds to pay for my supplies, fees. I have determined the following points to be the keys to my educational success. I know now that I need to continue to take in school class settings to keep my focuses.
After doing some talking to my advisor Mrs. .Jessica Johnson. I have determined the following points to be the keys to my educational success
- I will inform my professors when a life altering event occurs.
- I have arranged agreements with my grandmother to come and help with my mother.
- I will keep my school work my main priority.
- I will make appointments with my on-campus counselor to keep my focus
- I will maintain communication with my professors on a regular basis to ensure success in my courses.
I would be honored to continuing my studies at xxxxxx. I understand the seriousness of the situation that I have put myself into and take full responsibly of my actions and will not allow myself to have another mishap in the future. Thankfully, I have come up with a plan that will make sure that I stay on the right track and become a successful student. Thank you for your valuable time and consideration
Sincerely,
xxxx

It is obvious in this letter that English is not your first language. For example: “she HAVE now had” instead of HAS now had, and “arranged agreements” instead of “made arrangements”. Do you have someone with better English skills who can edit the letter for you? You may also want to state that you will work with tutors to better understand professor’s instructions, and, if your school has a writing lab, to have your papers read in the lab to help you re-write them as needed.

‘founded out’ should be ‘found out’

“lost focused” should be “lost focus”.
You need to have someone help you edit this letter, and, you can’t have it done here online on CC. Additionally, you may need to take English classes at your local community college. If you’ve misunderstood directions, in an online class, how will you interpret the more challenging aspects of the major?

Also, you’ve mentioned that you are the only person available to help your mother but later, you mention that your grandmother will help. What happens if your grandmother is unable to care for your mother? Maybe you should take some time off to help your mother with her recovery. If you are going to be juggling your care for her, the same thing will happen down the road. You will lose “focus” and your grades will again go down. The Financial aid officers will also see the same pattern.
