Airplane delay --> missed January SAT!

Hi all,

The title of the thread basically explains it all. Advice and help are desperately needed. Thank you.

Where did you have to fly to take the SAT?

sign up for april sat?

wow,, you had to take a plane to take SAT? where do you LIVE??

You have fly around the world just to take the SAT? Dude, chill out, the SAT isn't everything. I would assume you had to pay quite a lot.

Haha. Sorry, I wasn't specific enough because I was in a rush when I was posting the thread.

I missed a flight back to the U.S. on Friday, so I arrived on Saturday night instead.

OH!... You went on vacation...Where did you go?

I went to China for a week.

You can call and reschedule for $20. It says so on the CB site...

Do they give out the same test? I don't think so?

No, they do not give out the same test.

The January administration was my last chance. Would they reschedule a test soon? There are no more tests available until April, and by then I'll be hearing from colleges.

Don't they have Sunday testing?

Edit: But then again, it would be too late.

Exactly...

I don't think there's a third administration of the test. I only know of Saturday & Sunday testing. Sorry, I'm not of much help.

If your testing center is one of the schools listed on this, you might be in luck. Otherwise, I don't know.

Couldn't you have done standby SAT back in China? Unless they have a totally different policy over there...

Okay, not to be a nost nelly, but why one earth would you schedule a flight back the night before the SAT from China...I mean, um, this was a bad plan for a lot of reasons

There was probably a good reason, but you give a very good lesson, if you can avoid cutting it so close, then you should

Indeed, it was a close schedule. However, the plan was beyond my control, so I was not the one who determined the dates.

But I don't regret it. Having been invited by one of the world's most prestigious schools to participate in a cultural exchange, I wanted to get the most out of the trip and experience as much as possible.

Not much of a loss then....
