I was wondering if anyone here applied for this and if anyone has been notified if they've won. I think recipients are supposed to be notified in late january.

Also, I just noticed that somewhere on the website it says "all boxes must be filled in if not applicable type N/A," I'm pretty sure I left a couple boxes blank, for example, the space for a nickname. Could this have really severely hurt me?

I appreciate responses for anyone who knows anything about this scholarship.

My D also applied for this scholarship. The winners will be notified sometime next week. Letters are being sent out FedEx in the beginning of the week.

Notification letters to those not selected will be sent out in the beginning of Feb.

Also, I know it's way too late to even worry about it, but do you have any idea how leaving the "preferred name" space and guardian information (I entered info for both of my parents, but not a guardian because I thought it was self-explanatory) could have hurt me? Or were they just talking about the boxes for the mini essays?

I know I'm paranoid and being ridiculous, but it really bothers me.

I got mine a couple days ago for the Minnesota rep! Huzzah! Also, no idea how they pick the $50,000 winner. Although for some reason, I think I heard somewhere there's interviews or something. Does this sound familiar, or did I totally just imagine it?

I asked a previous winner and apparently they announce the top five finalists as soon as you arrive (I think once they gave 50G to two of them and 25G to another pair). I have no idea how they base their selections, though.
And I also have no clue how many people applied from each state...

Eeek! So they pick the top five right away, based solely on applications, without interviews or anything? That's scary. I don't have much hope for that. I wonder what these top winners have done that put them in the top?

I was chosen as the other representative for Colorado! You should search for me on Facebook (Kelley Robinson) and we'll get a group going for this. I can't wait for March.
