I'm not getting any response from the Albion part. Are the class selections in biology, chemistry, and Spanish good at Albion or are they limited? Also, does anyone know a percent of people from Albion who applied to med school and got in? I know they have pretty good advising for that, but do most people get in?

I cannot give you any current info, but Albion has a good rep for premed in the State of Michigan. The course selection is more than adequate. It has a pleasant campus but a very clique structured social scene revolving around the greek system. Albion gives basically a full scholarship to some students in the honors program. Students from the honors program seem to do well in terms of grad school placement. Getting recs is easy. There is grade inflation despite a somewhat average student body. THis is my 2 cents based on info several years old.

Albion has a reputation as a strong LAC. According to the latest brochure my daughter received, 95% of their students with at least a 3.4 gpa have been admitted to med school --- pretty good stat. The ACT/SAT stats aren't as impressive as they are at some school, but they are strong. The college seems to do a great job of educating (which is, after all, the purpose of college!). BTW, I am not an Albion grad & my daughter is not interested in the school. I do know quite a few current students & grads, and all have very good things to say about Albion.

I would certainly contact Albion's premed (preprofessional) department and ask them. Make sure they give you the figures for the number of students who get into allopathic (MD degrees) programs each year. Many colleges boast of a very high (even 100%) acceptance rate. But they don't tell you that the percentage they are reporting also includes fields such as osteopathy, podiatry, etc. If you are from MI, I would suggest that you contact the medical schools from U of M, Michigan State and Wayne State and ask them for specific numbers. If you read the U of M medical school website, they say only five MI colleges are represented in their incoming class. But there are about 26 colleges in MI. That means, many MI colleges are not sending premeds to allopathic schools.

I'm pretty sure that Albion doesn't have a figure skating team, but it there somewhere in the area (preferrably somewhere I can go without a car) where I can either continue to take lessons or teach little kids how to skate?

Also, do you feel pressured at Albion to join a frat or sorority?
