<p>How strict is the alcohol policy at nu? I've never imagined it would be too oppressive but at one of the presentations today it sounded pretty intense (even being in the presence of alcohol is punishable!)
was this all just for the parents benefit?</p>

<p>It’s about what your CA thinks. My CA’s policy can best be described as “salutary neglect,” but I’m in a fairly small house (no freshmen).</p>
<p>I would maybe try to avoid talking about any “unofficial” policies on these boards, where administrators are almost certain to browse. You’ll find out all about the alcohol policies once you get to campus. Northwestern’s alcohol policy is very similar to that of any other school.</p>
<p>I was trying to be vague about who and where, but the fact is that any rule is only as strong as he who enforces it.</p>
<p>Depends on the CAs in your building. Dont play loud music and they wont have a reason to enter.</p>
