Algebra 2 or Algebra 2/Trig SATs?

So I will be a Junior in two weeks and I had been in basic math classes (Basic Algebra (1) and Basic Geometry) because I've never been good at math.

My Geometry teacher thought I was well off going into Algebra 2/Trig next year, instead of going at the slower pace and doing regular Algebra 2.

(It goes: Algebra 2 (slowest class), Algebra 2/Trig (like three weeks at end for Trig), and Algebra 2/Trig Honors)...slowest class is no longer called a "basic" class.

So I have not gotten my schedule yet, so they had to switch up a bunch of my classes just so I could get in regular Algebra 2...

And I mean, I was having trouble with review from Algebra 1 with my tutor, and I got average grades in Algebra 1... so we thought it would be best to just do regular Algebra 2 since it goes slower and I do have a solid schedule of AP Psych and Honors History, Spanish 3 and Chemistry this coming Junior year.

But my mom is afraid I'm going to need that Trig on the SATs? And that colleges are going to see I didn't take Algebra 2/Trig but regular Algebra 2....

And I know some freshman who took the Algebra 2/Trig....so I feel kind of stupid.

There is no trigonometry on the SATs.

There’s no need to feel stupid for that!
You know what’s the best for you, and if you think regular Algebra 2 is the right class, then go for it!
You will be doing what you feel is for you, and no one can say anything about it.
Of course, if you feel that you might deal well with challenges, then I suggest taking the Algebra 2/Trig.
But don’t stress about it if you don’t want to, because like SandwichGirl said, there is no trig on the SATs, and what’s important for you (since you’re a junior) is to get a good grade in that class.

There’s no trig on the SAT I, but I guess some of that knowledge could be helpful with a couple of problems (just like trig functions? but you should have learned that in geometry, and you really don’t even need those). And not to make you feel bad, but I took Algebra 2 Honors as a freshman too. >.>

If you’re really not very confident about your math abilities though, just take regular Algebra 2.
