Possible to take tests without taking Alg 2/Trig

I won't be taking Algebra 2/Trig until the first semester of Junior Year. While I plan on taking the tests later on, I was wondering if it is possible to do well without having taken that class?

for SAT reasoning math, I don't think you need trig - or do u?

I took the ACT without taking Alg 2/Trig as a sophomore and it really killed my math score. Brought me from about a 30 to a 23.

I'm really only planning on taking the ACT at the end of my sophomore year to see where I stand. I can pick and choose which to send, correct?

Bump??????

I did same deal, it doesn't matter. You won't know all the stuff like functions and parabolas till like the MAY SAT, but if you do prep it will solve that.

Um, I'm sure you can... but I would go over the math sections in the prep book very well. They have a few advanced topics...

yes. the sat is designed to test people's reasoning and logic.

The test is not designed to test specific knowledge. well....sorta (not counting grammar)

for ACT u should probably take the class before taking it because it deals with that type of mathematics. SAT maybe not, but u should be able to answer "story problems" as they say in alg class.

I think taking the classes would help you--expose you to the material and show you how it works before the test.

I took it after taking a semester of AP Calc BC and got a 780 in math. Another girl in my class that semester took it and got a 650. It's really about test taking and logical ability than it is about how far you've gotten in the cirriculum. Practice always helps, though.

People I know in high math classes (AP) that did well almost always did well on the SAT. People in lower classes ALG II did not do quite as well. I bet there is a correlation
