ALL about Stern

Alright, so im fairly new at this researching colleges thing... and i just had some questions about stern

First of all, the workload. can anyone describe how tuff the workload is at stern?

i know its a business school, but are its courses offered all about preparing you to be able to work in an established business coorporation, or are there classes in things such as small business owner management available.

-i was also wondering if you are aloud to take courses at some of the other schools also, or if your courses would be stern exclusive

are most of the students in stern like really hardcore workers and studying, or can they find a good balance between work and fun.

and last are the dorms at nyu divided by school, or do the dorms put together people from the different schools at nyu.

thanks

bump.........

Anybody that goes to stern out there?

they're all dying under the workload right now...check back later.

It's not the workload that kills you... it's Work, ie, part-time jobs & internships and finding full-time jobs :P

But actually, the workload is not tough at all. If you can get admitted and don't spend all your time partying, you should do fine.

I don't think most courses are really geared towards prepping you for a large corporation, but since most Stern kids are interested in that, there is sort of a bent towards it. There are management/entrepreneurship classes, I think, but it's not like "this is how you build a small business". We do, however, have a small business/entrepreneurship center, so if you're interested in building your own business, there are resources. In addition, there's a business plan competition where you can compete to get seed money to start your own business.

No, you can take liberal arts classes. Check the Stern website - they lay out the average curriculum. Stern classes will be approximately half of your total credits, assuming you don't double major.

Stern is mostly a case of "work hard, party hard".

No, dorms are not split up.

lol brand...

anyways thanks youko...answered everything i wanted to kno. mayb ill be seeing you at stern next year....(although chances are extremely slim i can get in)
