All classes full?

Seriously? Orientation said there would be open spots, my registration time has only started 40 minutes ago.

I got my organic chem class w/ a lab.. barely. (7 units)

All the math 3B classes FULL.
All the physics 6A classes are FULL.
Even the labs for physics 6AL are closed.

They dont even have some of the courses available for the other quarters..

*** am I supposed to do?

How do you have registration at 7pm?

And they only have classes posted for the next quarter halfway through the current quarter. Except for fall, which gets posted halfway through spring.

I just had registration, luckily, I was able to register for three classes classes. But yeah, at orientation they said that there would be open spots for a full load, but I do not see that happening for a lot of people. There simply aren’t enough classes.

some of my classes coming up only are available for those certain quarters every year… and this puts me wayyyy off schedule when I need to take those classes, eventually.

Even though they said enough for a full load, it does not necessarily mean you’ll get the classes you want/need.

My freshman year, I signed up for Pstat 5a, math 3b, Chican@ Studies 1a cause it was open and fit my schedule, and psych 1. Of those, I only really wanted psych and math. Pstat cause I just took stats in hs and felt like I could cruise through it, which I did.

dude, I’m having the same issue. I couldn’t reg till 8, and I got into only 2 classes I needed. It’s ridiculous, and sounds like I was promised spaces that didn’t exist.

How often does crashing classes like math 3b and physics 6a/al usually work?

At least you guys could register for courses. All the ones I need require an approval code or are full. So it looks like I’ll be wasting my first quarter on courses that I won’t need.

i also require approval codes for classes that i dont even need… This is stressful

I got one class that I accidentally signed up for, and now it wont let me drop it. Other then that all the class I need are full. I got nothing.

Does anyone know what to do?

My registration was about 40 minutes ago and it won’t even let me add some available classes related to my major of economics. It keeps saying “this course is limited to majors only” yet economics is my major. I’m a transferring student that finished all pre-reqs, I also called the econ departments advisor to make sure I was good to go on adding upper division classes in which he explained that I can add them all since I’m officially not Pre-Economics anymore. This is looking real bad as the classes I need just continue to get full. Is anyone else having this issue?

Heat: if the econ department is anything like the math department, go see your advisor and they’ll give you approval codes. Just make sure you have the class/enrollment code number written down.

@Heat

What number did you dial to talk to the econ advisor?
When I went to orientation my advisor told me I needed to send some sort of proof that I finished one of my pre-reqs, which I did through email like 5 days ago, but I never received any response back. I’m assuming this might be why I can’t get classes due to not actually being in the major yet. So I need to call them tomorrow and see what is up. Could I get the number and possibly the office hours? or a link to where I could get this info. Thanks.

I too am an econ major, business econ to be exact, who has completed all prereqs. At orientation, the econ students had to petition to get their major changed from pre-economics to the actual economics major. If you did not do this, then that may be why you aren’t able to register for classes.

hey hotshott, my major originally was Pre-Business economics and I filled out a form which officially made it Business Economics. Since I finished all my pre-reqs I was able to continue with the old name of “business economics”. Are you able to add all the upper division econ courses right now?

@Heat

Yeah I am able to enroll in upper division courses, so far I have registered for three.

Hey maybetomorrow, here is the link to the 3 advisors for the undergrudate department. [UCSB Economics | Staff](http://www.econ.ucsb.edu/people/staff.html) Your situation is identical to mine where I had to send an e-mail to an advisor to confirm i finished the last pre-req I needed. But I did call the advisor, which whom I sent the e-mail to, and he did confirm that I was good to go. Hopefully all the classes aren’t full tomorrow.

I’m relegated to the Obama phenomenon so that I can get at least 12 units…joy /end sarcasm.

Thanks Heat!
Yeah that’s probably my issue I sent it to the overall ugrad email since I never got my advisors name. I guess I’ll have to send my information again and call tomorrow morning.
Well I don’t think all the courses will be filled but I do think that all the good teachers and times will be taken.

On another note just got my billing statement and holy cow! Talk about a heart attack. Dx
