All Freshman Common Applications received online or by mail will have been downloaded/processed as of January 27, 2011. All applicants and parents should receive an initial email confirming receipt of the Common Application and W&M Supplement by January 27.

We will continue to process all applications and match transcripts, standardized tests, letters of recommendations, etc over the course of the next few weeks. A second email will be sent to applicants and parents confirming competion of your application.

If any component is missing, the student will be emailed. We will simply ask to you resubmit any missing materials. No penalty is assessed.

Thank you so much W&M, for keeping us posted and answering all of our questions!! We appreciate it.

Thank you indeed.

Question:
Is it feasible that my transcripts/counselor rec, which were sent on 12/22, are still in the unprocessed pile?
Should I talk with my school about sending another copy?

halloimzack, that is very possible. There is no particular order to when we match what materials with which applications. We still have nearly 4000 applications that haven’t been completed. That by no means the materials aren’t in our office. It just takes time to go through all of our mail (an entire conference room full) and match documents with applications. And our first priority these past few weeks has been to download all the applications. Now we will focus our efforts on completing them.

feeling reassured, thanks!

Are there any stats yet about the number of applicants this year?

LoCoMama, we have not yet made an official announcement because things will still be in flux for a while yet but we intend to release our application numbers in the near future.

My son downloaded his app on December 27th and received the first email on Jan. 6th. When should he receive the second email? Thanks:).

Thank you very much W&M Admissions, you are INCREDIBLE on these boards :)

Thanks, hallo. That helps!

halloimzack, way to be up to date on our blogs. Glad you’re using them to get info.

We anticipate that by the end of this coming week we should be able to either complete applications or start emailing those applicants for whom we cannot complete applications and let them know what they’re missing.

Note that emails about missing components go to applicants only so applicants should be checking their email a few times per week to make sure they are receiving our communications.
