I'm applying to the university of Montana and have seen that the all girl dorms are nicer and bigger then the co-Ed ones. But I feel the co-Ed ones would be more fun. What do you recommend?

Go all girl.

I lived in an all girl dorm my freshman year, and a coed dorm my sophomore year, and honestly, freshman year, people were more open and friendly than sophomore year. And if the all girl dorms are nicer, then why not?? Trust me, you want to live in the nicest dorm possible.

I say go co-ed.

The nicest dorm at my university is all girls.

I have friends who live there. Because it’s all girls, they’re really strict with visitors. It’s a lot of drama. It just doesn’t seem like a good environment to live in.

I LOVED my co-ed experience.

I’d say it’s entirely personal preference. I personally couldn’t be around all girls for that amount of time. I’m not a dramatic person and it’s incredibly exhausting being surrounded by that many people who are like that 24/7. I’m not saying all girls are dramatic. Definitely not. It’s just, you’re more likely to find more of them and they’re not really hardly anything to drown them out in an all-girls dorm.

Honestly, don’t worry about the strictness about visitors…technically at my school, boys weren’t allowed in the building after 2am on weeknights, and 3am on weekends, but you would often find them sleeping over. The same rule went for the all boy’s dorm, and I not only slept there many nights (I was often in my friend’s room late, and didn’t want to walk across campus to my dorm alone, so I just stayed with him), but I also usually used the bathroom on the floor rather than go downstairs to use the girls bathroom. I never got in trouble for it, and the most anyone ever got for doing something like that was a “slap on the wrist” by being told they can’t do that. No big deal at all.

Co-ed .

A strong vote for Co-ed!!
