all good SUNET ID's taken :(

=(

I tried first initial last name@stanford.edu, first initial middle initial last name@stanford, first name last name@stanford.edu, first initial middle initial last initial@stanford.edu, nothing worked for me :(

why don't you try first name last initial. worked for me

Hey, I think someone mentioned in another thread that they'd received a letter explaining how to get a SUNET ID. I didn't get that letter. If you got it, do you know when the letter was sent?

Thanks.

did you guys get a handwritten note from the person who read your app with the SUNET form?

I wanted to ask that, too. :)

I mean, is writing at the bottom of that form just a ploy to get us to want to accept their offer...or is it genuine

I dont know what to think

Try adding in a number at the end.

First name last initial can work also; that's actually what mine is. Then again, my last name is 14 letters long, so it wouldn't be very fun. You can also do bits and pieces; for example, if your last name is Anderson, you could use just Ander, or something like that.

And formebyme25, you might want to check the thread called "did everyone get a handwritten note?" http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=287682 ;) Just a thought.

i was going to use first initial middle initial last name but my sister pointed out that it looks like a rather questionable word. ;)

This is not exactly related to the topic but how do you accept your offer of admission online. I don't see the link on the axess site. The only thing there is this letter:

[Quote]

Congratulations!

Please add me to the list of people in your life who congratulate you on your admission to Stanford! We would love to have you visit the Farm during Admit Weekend 2007 (April 19-21). Details will be forthcoming in a separate mailing. In the interim, please take the time to let us know if you will be joining the Stanford Class of 2011. To respond to our offer of admission, please click on "Admission Response" to the left, or you can use the materials we enclosed with your admission letter.

Again, congratulations on your admission and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Shawn L. Abbott
Director of Admission
Will that link pop up later or did I completely miss it?

When I log into Axess, the first page that comes up is training. Where did you see the letter from Abbott? My page just says STARS, etc. This is so weird (I'm still trying to figure it out). My home page when I log into Axess is just STARS...wth?

Is this b/c it hasn't been 24 hours since I signed up for the SUNet ID? I just signed up a few hours ago...so maybe Axess doesn't show me as a student yet? Yikes! Now I'm getting freaked out. :)

i see two tabs on my axess page. one says training and the other home. the letter is on the home tab.
EDIT: It's been this way since I signed up. I didn't have to wait 24 hours or anything.

pyleela, I have the exact same problem. I guess Axess still thinks we're guests. ;)

Haha, give axess some time to process you guys. Believe it or not, while we do have the number one CS department in the nation (and therefore, the world :-P), it's definitely not reflected in what is actually in place. Axess still uses the old school tape system of storing data, so it'll take a while before you can log in and use it properly. Don't freak out. It's all about the Zen peace and patience, yo.

going back to fuzzylogic's question....i dont think there is anything you can click to accept admission online(??) i didnt see any link to the left of the letter i got on axess...i dunno

Good News: I have two tabs now!!! :D

Okay, I was a bit over-worried, but hey, at least now I know the reason. :)

Oh, and I don't see any place to accept admission via the website either. Maybe they'll add it on later, once all the regular admits are in?

^You have to accept admission by mailing them stuff (You'll get it don't worry).
