All-nighters

I've pulled one all nighter in my whole life. And I never will again. I couldn't do anything the day after.

I almost pulled one yesterday, but then I decided to take the next day off and went to bed at 4 and woke up at 2.

G-U-NOT, not everyone is an overacheiver. some people have to pull all-nighters because they are horrible procrastinators (like myself)

I'd much rather hangout/talk to my friends after school than do HW... and then I also like getting As so I kind of have to deal with HW... sleep sort of comes last in my list of priorities

its not that im up studying...i jus cant fall asleepp

so as a RESULT i go online, do hw, study, etc

Umm maybe once a month if i'm partying out late.

I've never pulled one, and I don't know how. As a regular procrastinator, I always end up finishing by four in the morning (at the latest).

I procrastinate. I also am generally in school from 7:00am to 8:30pm because of my extracurriculars. That equals a fair number of all-nighters, especially for essays and science tests.

I've gotten better in the past year and a half, though, because I finally admitted to myself that no, my workload is not difficult enough to warrant all this stress and no, I don't really work better at 5 am and no, I actually do like getting to sleep before midnight and this whole deal about being a night owl is just a facade. Now I find myself actually working on projects prior to the day before they're due...

ewww... all-nighters suck

freshman year i never had enough work to justify an all nighter
sophomore year i tried it a few times

this year (junior year/final year)- i have waay more work than before but i realized that if i stay up past 1 am i am completely unfunctional the next day, so if i have a test that completely defeats the purpose. if i have a lot of work i just say "f this, im going to sleep"

but i alredy got into college, so yea... HA-HA!

Never stayed up past 1AM on days with normal circumstances (no trips, etc.)

I've pulled like three all-nighters...and just in this one semester [first semester, it was a miracle if I even did my homework in the house]. And I'm only a freshmen. Oh geez.

Pulled an all-nighter once only to turn to the local news and find out that school's cancelled. Did another all-nighter, went to school, then realized that the project wasn't due till the next week.

I can't seem to do an all-nighter properly.

seriously...its really nuts what the people on this forum attempt to do to get into college. I have had a few cram nights myself...for AP exams or for BIG science competitions or deadlines. Not for frickin schoolwork. And I definitely don't have cram nights (and we're talkin 2 or 3 hours) too often.

You guys are going to one day look back on this and see how ridiculous it is. Until then, however, you will argue with me.

I see you guys complaining about having pulled 1-3 all nighters as college freshman and sophomores.....I'm a junior in high school and probably pull an all nighter once every week.

I would pull more late nights (all-nighters are out of the question for me) if I could. Problem is, I just seem to shut down without at least 6 hours of sleep. I already feel like I can't function on 6 hours, so getting 8 hours is a must before test days. How do you guys pull all-nighters and still manage to take tests the next day? I just burn out completely.

when i stay up all night, i get really tired and lethargic from about 6am - 8am but then once it gets light out i just wake up again and i feel normal. i have never done worse on tests or anything from staying up all night. but then that night, i go to bed at around 7 or 8 to make up for losing sleep the night before.

Same here. Those first couple of hours are excruciating, but around lunchtime, I'm back to my normal self.

I actually feel a lot better after all-nighters; I am much more energetic, awake (definitely), and alert. Maybe I should stop sleeping altogether. :)

Haha, I feel that way too at first; until I fall asleep in my third period class. =P

I always fall asleep in my third period class (actually, I'm in a semi-comatose state). Oddly, it is only third period. In second and fourth period, I'm fine.
