All of you that are down, don't lose hope

This isn't me showing off, this is just to reignite that small faint glimmer in a lot of your guy's hearts about getting into UCB

Let me start with saying that I am going to be a Freshman next year, I got into UCLA and just now UCSD. Lets take a look at my not so impressive specs.

SAT 1: Writing 560, Critical Reading 630, Math 710
ACT:31
SAT 2: Physics B 690 Math II 750
AP: 2 in Calculus 4 in Physics B
UW GPA: 3.95
UCGPA: 4.3

in my opinion NOT EVEN CLOSE to a competitive application for UCLA or UCSD, but what most of you seem to forget, is that it isn't all about the numbers. I got into both of those schools, not because of my tests but because:

I have taken 6 community college class in the past year
I am in a FIRST robotics FRC competition team in my school
I have a job
And I swim for 4 months out of the year on a swim team.

STILL even with those, my application isn't amazing, and yet I still got in.

Don't lose hope folks, you ARE special, you CAN do it, and if you didn't get in, it wasn't meant to be, don't worry too much, its only undergrad after all! If you start feeling down now, you will only feel worse if you get rejected. If you act optimistic, it won't be as big of a blow if you do get rejected. I could do it, so can you!!

actually your application is quite competitive compared to to those of your school. You have a very high unweighted GPA, good ECs, and are from Sacramento (good for UCLA). i think you just never thought of yourself highly (which is a good thing) and never expected yourself to receive admission anywhere.

You might have a good chance for UCLA.
