What about the brand with the penguin on it?

Anyway Lacoste > all

okay, seriously. if i were to walk on to my new college campus, sporting an AE polo because they are inexpensive (im not rich) and i want a polo shirt, will people hate me based on the assumption that i am wearing it only to impress (all i wanted were some damn polos)?

I must say, Gap and BanRep make quality stuff, they don't sport a 12in.x12in. logo, and they look good. BanRep dominates everything. Oh and their outlets are ridiculously cheap. I think half the shirts I have are from a BanRep outlet in Cincinnati.

many retailers sell a different product in the Outlet Store. While some folks think that they are buying the same shirt........it is widely known to be a completely different product.

i have a random polo shirt with a fox on it but it's definitely not from JC penney. the brand is like 'retro fox' or something

I bought 6 brand new RL polo shirts on ebay for $70, I think. If you know where to buy them, they're actually pretty cheap.

70$ for 6 shirts????

omg. i'm so going to ebay. incredible. wow. it's usually like 70$ for 1 shirt.

atomicfusion,
I'd watch out for fakes, ebay has tons of them.

helpmegetin!,
Actually, each Lacoste polo is made of 15.5 miles of pure long-staple cotton. In addition, with good care it's not unusual for a Lacoste polo to last over 20 years. I don't think you can get that out of the average JCPenney polo :).

yea, i'm a fanboy :D.

i like polos....conservative, comfortable, and unrevealing. i have some lacoste polos, which i think are pretty good quality.

People like Lacoste's $100 polo shirt for its quality and durance? These must be the same people who read Playboy for the articles and play Dead or Alive: Xtreme Beach Volleyball because of its awesome volley action.

Face it, you shell out that extra green for that little alligator because if you do, you can fantasize about yachting while sipping lemonade with a Kennedy.

Or maybe not. Could be my mistake.

no, i honestly like lacoste's quality...i love the feel of their shirts. lol that sounded stupid, but it's true.

besides, so many ppl wear lacoste nowadays, its pretty hard to fantasize.

Penguin = Munsingwear

i have a little cardigan thing by retro fox..it's cute. nice brand, fun colors.

yeah, lacoste are pretty common nowadays... I'd say most of the guys at my school have at least one :/. and yes, they do feel freakin' awesome.

"i like polos....conservative, comfortable, and unrevealing. i have some lacoste polos, which i think are pretty good quality."

they are not conservative any more. a lot of fashionistas like to own them............this begger i saw on NYC metro was wearing a lacoste polo as well...crazy clubbers wear them...

Want something conservative? Oxford shirts with botton-down collars.

simple...ralph owns, others copy

pre-med wannabe's post is a good summary of the "business"

this is really funny... all of you are saying that lacoste shirts are the most comfortable polos...
i actually think the opposite. the material's kinda thin and i don't like that cut so much.

I gravitate towards rl polos and abercrombie ones, mostly. rl has the softest and most comfortable material and abercrombie has the best cut for me.

well yes, lacoste is fashionable nowadays, but it doesnt mean its not conservative. and that beggar was likely wearing a fake. god, i hate fakes, even if they do sell for like ten dollars. then it feels like you're just buying for the brand, you know?

Which is the reason most people buy anyway, isn't it? GAP and ON last just as long, I still have a shirt from 2000 and it looks new, but they sell fewer polos because they don't use a logo, which, as everyone knows, is the most important part of the shirt.
