Oh, and CONGRATS!

(my online status changed a couple of days after the envelope, and just recently to: "appointment accepted")

actually i think there is something amiss with my envelope..lol..but yeah my website status is now "appointment offered" ...but like i said, i think that ive had my appointment for quite a while now and they just have my wrong address or something..isnt that terrible? lol i need to give them a call.

Name: Andrew Pan
Hometown: Portland, Oregon
Age: 17

Status: Appointment Offered: 99% sure that I'm going to the Colorado Springs. I'll decide after I visit the academy in April. But otherwise, I've wanted it for a long time.

Name: Dont want to reveal that yet ;-)
State: NY
Age: 18

Status: Got a call from the congresswoman that I was in and I should be expecting an envelope this week. But, my online status hasnt changed yet.... so.. Im a little leery.

Kind of funny, I got a principal nomination less than a week ago, and TODAY I received the LOA I've been waiting for since November, yet it's dated from a week ago...so, I "got" the LOA first but it actually arrived in the mail just after my nomination, which I thought was funny since it says I'm "virtually accepted" and just need a nomination =)

And just today my nomination status changed to "Received". Status is still "Candidate"

the communication from the admissions dept is a little sketchy....

last year ALOT of people got a rejection letter, and then within 24 hrs they got an acceptance letter... a little crazy...

just know it's not over until June 29th, I know 4 degree that received his acceptance letter 36hrs before inprocessing...

Thats kidna crazy... I mean, how can they get everything set up 36 hours before needing to inprocess? Ive heard a week before inprocessing...thats crazy.

But 36 hours? wow!

I've enjoyed lurking in this site for several months. Thanks for all the great help!
My son received an LOA late November, a congressional nomination late December, and his offer of appointment on 27 Jan.

A couple of questions: Has anyone in Texas heard anything from Senator Hutchison? My son received notice his application was complete, but there's been nothing since - not even a rejection.

Also, you guys at the academy, would you please post the name, author and edition of the fourth class chemistry text book. If that course is such a bear, maybe it would be good for us to take a look at it in advance. BTW my wife is a chemistry teacher.

Thanks

I got my appointment today! So excited.

Appointment received Tuesday 1/31/2006, LOA was in November and nomination was in early January, good luck all. However, the son accepted a naval appointment last week.

So now we're rivals. Air Force is still "far far above" the other academies!

usna or usafa??? any opinions?

USAFA. What can I say, I'm biased. B-5 is the best! Congrats!

You have to decide what branch you want your career in. I had a similar conflict deciding between USAFA and USMA. Try not to let what people think or say influence you too much, just go with your gut.

Good luck and congratulations!!
