As an incoming freshman for the class of 2016, I have to decide between Allison and Elder (as preferences of course). Elder will foster a freshman-only community but is on the North side of campus away from majority of classes offered in WCAS (from what I've read). Allison offers a better location but is home to a wider range of people.

Which is better?

Both are amazing. Don’t worry about where classes are because getting to walk all over campus is totally worth it. In any case, the dorm experience is going to be what you make of it.

Are you sure that you’re getting to put that as a preference? Things have changed this year…it’s a housing survey where you put down preferences, however, there is no dorm preference. The closest is geographical…do you prefer north or south. The only building preference is if you want to live in a res college.

If you have the option, definitely Elder. It’s the best. I didn’t actually lived there, but I probably spent more time there than in my actual dorm.
