Are all schools required to allow you to take AP tests for self studied APs? I am worried my school will not let me take the AP biology test because I only took the Lab Bio course the past school year and not the AP. (Though I am self-studying over the summer and throughout next year)

Also, how would I go about taking an AP exam for a subject not offered at my school? Would my school get a copy of the test for me? Would I have to take it at a different school?

You can just sign up and take an AP test. There's nothing anyone can do to stop you, save the limitations of your study time and your pocket book :)

At my school, we sign up for AP tests through the counseling department, but I'm sure this varies from school to school. I would ask your school's administration. As for where you would take the test, I can't really help you. Again, at my school, all AP tests are taken at a county administrative building. Your results may vary.

When I self-studied French, I told my French teacher and my guidance counselor. Your bio teacher should be able to help you, and your guidance counselor will be able to help you sign up for the test.

Thanks for the information guys.
