almost got in a fight with my roommate

nysmile:

OP did not “pick up” a knife… he wrote that he “pulled a knife”.

OP, correct me if I am wrong, but doesn’t that mean you carry a knife in your pocket? I’m not entirely sure that is legal :)

OP, acting like a wannabe gangster gets you killed in the real world. Imagine if you pulled out a knife on someone who had a gun. You get your brains blown out.

A part of me suspects that this is a ■■■■■ post, but most of posts in this thread still stand.

ay mane ur roomie is frontin… don’t let m holla at u like that ever again

shook ones

whats gonna happen the next time someone makes you mad? your gonna pull out a weapon? live by the sword die by the sword…

I think it may be a ■■■■■ post.

But that isn’t to say people like this don’t exist. A fellow student back in college used to get angry and pull crap like this and then blame others for “making her react that way,” never taking responsibility for her actions. And to her, her reactions were perfectly normal/justified.

Unlike a gun, a knife as many uses as it is more a tool than a weapon, however…since it can be assumed you weren’t using it to cut wire or hack through wood during this argument it’s just considered a deadly weapon. A deadly weapon has a single function, kill or injure an opponent.

Next time you feel like acting a fool, remember that. Because not only are you 1) Committing a very serious crime that can result in you ending up in jail, but 2) It can result in you being seriously hurt or killed.

Situations like this is when Darwin shows his genius. I have a feeling that you knew that your roommate didn’t have any weapons on him, therefore you felt comfortable taking out your knife and displaying it as a show of force. This is what we call being a coward and a knucklehead. So congrats on being a complete turd. You got lucky this time.

Next time, it could be very different. Next time, when you feel like letting your temper get the best of you, remember that the person you want to intimidate might be me, or someone like me. Someone who doesn’t **** themselves at the sight of a knife or get pushed around by D-Bags who want to act a fool. When you pull out your knife, I will pull out my gun (because I always have it concealed on me, but you wouldn’t know that) and depending on the kind of day I’m having I will either tell you to crawl away on your hands and knees or exercise my right to protect myself against deadly force. Either way, you will be either going home to change your boxers or praying that you have Wolverine’s healing factor.

So next time you decide to show off, remember that the quite guy drinking his beer in peace might just be a former Marine who’s having a crappy day and compared to some insurgent with a RPG you are as intimidating as a church mouse, or the guy who you think is a nerdy banker in a suit and tie might be an amateur kickboxer who’s boss just rejected his vacation request and now he has to go home and tell his kids that Disney World will have to wait.

Or better yet, that shy kid in your dorm who never talks to anyone and always seems grumpy? Well, maybe he spent his whole childhood getting abused by his alcoholic father and has deep rooted anger issues that he might take out on you when you think you can scare him by pulling out a knife.

Take my advice and get rid of the knife. You aren’t mature enough to be trusted with one and it will only get someone hurt and you in trouble. I always carry a gun and a knife, but that’s because, 1) I know turds like you exist and I won’t let myself or my family be one of your victims, 2) I’ve invested time into becoming safe and accurate, 3) I respect their deadly nature, 4) I’m mature person who doesn’t act based on emotion and the only people who will be on their receiving end will be those who threatend the safety of myself, my family or those in my vacinity, and 5) I respect their deadly nature and carry them to give myself options, not to be a bully or a thug.

Hopefully you will grow up. If not, luckily there is a cure of your condition. It’s called getting some sense knocked into you, which I assure you will happen as some point.
