<p>Does anyone have information on recognition awards for ALO’s? Thought I read somewhere about awards for outstanding ALO’s. Would like to get info on nominating an ALO.</p>

<p>First, thank you for wanting to honor an ALO! </p>
<p>There are awards that ALO's can be nominated for; unfortunately, they are "in unit" so to speak. The Liaison Officer Director (LOD) and his/her "Deputy LODs" (DLODs) will usually get together and decide who to nominate to USAFA for various awards:</p>
<p>Outstanding LOD of the Nation
Outstandin DLOD of the Nation
Outstanding Primary Duty ALO of the Nation
Outstanding Minority Admissions Counselor ALO of the Nation</p>
<p>I'm embarassed to say I can't remember all of them...but I know those 4.</p>
<p>However...if you want to make your case/recommendation, then I would ask that you contact the LOD and submit a "formal" letter of appreciation, citing your reasons. Trust me, if an LOD receives a letter from someone OUTSIDE the ALO group/unit, it will get close attention. And it'll be part of our discussions when determining who we'll nominate!</p>
