Alo

What is the best way to get in contact with your ALO?

His name and email should be on your USAFA on-line application status page. If you think it is necessary just send him an email and introduce yourself. If you don’t contact him he WILL contact you once you reach a certain point in the application process. That point is supposedly when a certain percentage of your application is complete. Have you completed your application?

I am a freshman in high school. I have not gotten as far as applications yet but i am trying to prepare for it as much as I can.

I didn’t realize that you were still a freshman. Try the following link:
[Air Force Academy](<a href=“U.S. Air Force Academy”>U.S. Air Force Academy)
Good Luck!

Not to discourage you, but contacting “your” ALO as a freshman, during the peak of the admissions cycle, is just a waste of time for both you and the ALO.

“Preparing” for the academy for a freshman involves maintaining top grades in challenging courses, playing sports, taking advantage of any leadership opportunities, staying healthy, and staying out of trouble.

Yeah, you won’t get an ALO until you complete the pre-candiate questionairre (the first step in the application process) and you can’t do that until the spring of your Jr year in HS. All you can do is:

 1. Get the best grades you possibly can
 2. Particpate in as many extra-curriculars as you possibly can
 3. Play as many sports as you possibly can
 4. Don’t wait until your Sr year to do ANYTHING! You need to be a competitive applicant by the end of your Jr year because that’s when you submit your info to the academy. If you wait until your Sr year to take your ACT or something, it’s going to delay your application process significantly.

Good luck!!!
