<p>I joined this society in Hawaii decades ago; it was one of the few opportunities I had to socialize as the university I attended at the time was primarily a commuter school. I joined this & the other honor society, Phi Eta Sigma; we did a number of community service & socializing activities. I urged my S to join it at USC–so far he has not told me that they have had any activities he’s participated in since he joined a few years ago.</p>
<p>The Hawaii chapter had no drinking that I was aware of; being in an honor society is one more thing you can list on your resume & job apps.</p>
