Anyone have any info? Good, bad or indifferent? Yeah, I already googled it.

Although it is a national fraternity, each chapter is going to be very different. And what makes a fraternity good to some will make it bad or indifferent to another. the chapter will change a little bit based on each pledge class for that matter. Hard to give an opinion without knowing the chapter and what the person wants/expects in the organization. It is about fit after all.

When searching fraternities (or sororities for that matter), it is always best to find out info for one that is school specific…

In other words, this particular fraternity may have different cultures depending on which school it is at…

You may want to post this on the particular school forum this frat is in…to get the most honest opinions…

noice screen name btw…just caught it…hehe

Thanks, chapter is Binghamton

Lawn Guyland Dad

Post over there…back in my day, there were no frats there…so alumni parents (unless they have kids attending) will not be much help…

I posted in the school forum and have received zip, so far

^^zip does give you an indication of how prevalent (or not) this fraternity is at Binghamton…

You might try checking greekchat.com That is a site I have read about here, a site that a lot of people from fraternities and sororities post in. It is full of discussions about issues related to BIG Greek systems at BIG Greek schools. The people who post there are not particularly friendly to outsiders, so asking questions may not be useful, but you could read what others have said. (If you post anything, be careful not to reveal the identity of the potential member you are talking asking questions for.)

No, I wouldn’t reveal my sons’ name is Cuthbert T. Whipplesnoot.
Not a big deal, just surprised no info

In general, Greeks don’t really want to discuss the reputation of chapters. It is really based on rumor and reputation than on facts. I know that I still have opinions on who were the “best” fraternities" on my old campus, but my opinion would be different from my sisters. Besides, reputations and general outside impressions don’t really mean anything when picking a fraternity or sorority. The people that you want to spend 4 years living with, playing with, bailing out and supporting is the house that you want, not th one with teh rep for the hottest girlfriends or the most lux house. If you choose based on reputation, you may find you don’t actually fit in.
