Alternate version of Common Application

Hello! I've tried to search the forums but I couldn't find anything pertaining to the alternate version of the CA that would clear my confusion.

I understand that it is possible to create alternate versions of the application after having submitted one application to a university. However, in this alternate version, is it possible for me to edit my Common application essay? Or is it under the electronically locked section?

Thanks!

Yes, you can create a version, save it and submit it to a school(s). Then you make changes (including the essay), save it and submit to other school(s). This is the closest I could find to an explanation on the CA website:

Support Center

Go to "Changes after submission" and then question #2.

You really clarified my doubts; I had tried to send a ticket in but what I got was rather instructions on how to create an alternate application etc. Thank you so much!

Tried this and the instructions don’t work. At the login screen it just confirms I’ve logged out instead of asking to create alternate versions. Support says I need to first send in an application (done that. told them I did that.) Anyone tried this in 2009?

i wanted to create an alternate version but i couldnt find any directions or links , what should i do ?
