Currently, Im in high school and am trying to figure out ways I can get the english credit other than the AP exam. Im not that great at reading and would much rather take the specific classes for my major when Im in college and not have to bother taking those dreaded english classes.

Is possible to take a CLEP or CBE exam, or possibly take it during the summer at a local college, such as UH. maybe even online? thanks

take it during the summer at your local community college. Many offer it online. It is not the same thing as testing out of it, but is is shorter!

One way to test out of the Lit requirement is by doing well on the CLEP and then taking a special UT essay as well. I don’t know HOW well you have to do on the CLEP lit test. This is a pretty hard CLEP test. It’s designed for people who have READ many important books (or at least know them well); in addition to general information about lit, you have to know plots and characters of great pieces of literature. I don’t know anyone who has gotten credit this way.
