Alumni Interview Question

I just received my CMU ID a few days ago, so I want to schedule my alumni interview. I looked up the possible interviewers and found one that graduated from SCS that (from what I can gather) sounds really interesting. We have a lot in common and he seems like a pretty chill guy. Is it OK to schedule an interview with him if he graduated from SCS, seeing as I'm applying to CIT (electrical and computer engineering)? Is interviewing with someone not from your prospective school frowned upon or anything like that?

Thanks for the responses...I just want to make sure this isn't looked upon badly.

I’ve interviewed a number of people not looking at CIT, though they’ve generally been related schools (SCS or MCS). The interview is supposed to be mostly informational for you, so you can learn more about the school and figure out if you want to attend. If you think you’ll get a lot out of talking to this guy, then by all means try to interview with him.

Thanks for the quick response, I’ll go ahead and ask him for the interview. I should have a number of questions, as I haven’t had the opportunity to visit the campus. :)
