Able to pay and wanting to pay can be very different questions, no?
Haha the reason my parents got wealthy was by being very very frugal. So they’ll pay through the moon for me but really are pushing me for in state and scholarships. And they’re are some good schools in California for engineering like UC berkely
There are good ABET engineering schools all over the place. There is no need to spend money on OOS tuition costs to attend an ABET accredited engineering program.
Not for aerospace engineering
get a bachelors in ME at OSU (Oregon State) and then see if you can get a job at Boeing. You can get a masters in aerospace engineering at a later date.
No thank you osu isn’t the school for me an my passion is aerospace
ETA…I’m not sure I understand your need here. Your parents have the funds to pay for a private university…and Cal would be about the same cost.
I’m looking at private and public universities all over the world. If I was a California resident that might have made a difference but because I’m not it’s unlikely that I’ll return to California for school.
Mech Es get hired for the same jobs as Aeros.
Yes I know but I really want to be highly focus on aerospace engineering. That may change but I want the option to major in it in the undergraduate
Contact them and see if they have an Aero track within Mech E.
If you insist on majoring in AE for undergrad, it looks like NMSU offers an ABET-accredited B.S. in Aerospace Engineering that concentrates on ME for the first two years. You would be eligible for reduced tuition there under WUE.

My number one school right now is Georgia Tech
So your parents will pay full freight for GA Tech but not for Cal…as an out of stater? Is that what you are saying?
my parents will pay for any school that seems worth the money
Ok…I’m confused. You came here asking about instate status for tuition purposes in CA. Then you mentioned Berkeley. You sounded like you needed instate status to consider the CA schools. Then you mentioned privates and now your top choice is another OOS public.
So…what’s your deal, with Berkeley? Will your parents pay the OOS costs there or not…because it certainly is a worthy school?
My mom went to berkely and my brother went to UC Davis. A hatred of the UC system is strong in my family. Its ranked high for engineering but after everything I’ve heard plus having to pay oos its not my first choice. I was wondering if I was in state just for safety schools mostly. Most the schools I’m looking at are private or huge publics out of state.
My personal opinion is that you have been cross-examined about your plans quite enough and that your original question has been answered. I’m sorry your family had bad UC experiences.
