I am a transfer applicant from an OOS school but I have been taking Community College Classes concurrently to transfer. I have met all my major requirements for my major based on assist.org by taking Community College classes.
I have enough credit to be considered a CA Community College Transfer and meet the 90 Quarter Unit requirement based purely on Community College + AP Credit. However, I am still dual-enrolled in my OOS school (I am taking Community College Classes + OOS Classes).
Does anyone know how my app will be reviewed? Will I be looked at as an OOS transfer applicant or CA Community College transfer Applicant.
For what it’s worth I got the UCLA Transfer Alumni Scholarship email which is meant for Community College Transfer only (from what I understand)
I don’t exactly understand what you mean by this. A CCC (California Community College) system is strictly a community college that is located in the State of California.
The number of credits is a requirement for all transfer to UCs, but unless you live on the border of California and attend an out of state school while attending a community college in California, you will be considered as an out of state transfer applicant.
Also, I believe that everyone who applied to UCLA as a transfer received the Alumni Scholarship Application email, whether you qualify or not.
If you have 30 semester units from a CCC and the last regular term (year) is at a CCC you are considered a CCC student and get priority consideration. I’m not sure if taking a class at a non-ccc disqualifies you. But since you got recommended for a UCLA Alumni scholarship you obviously have a strong GPA and it might not make any difference. People do get in from non-CCCs.
I took CCC classes online while enrolled in an OOS school. I have more CCC credit than OOS credit though so I am wondering where I stand. The requirement to be considered a CCC transfer is 30+ Semester Units of CCC credit (which I have). I’ve also done my IGETC, 7-course pattern and finished all major requirements.
Also, I thought the UCLA Alumni Scholarships email has some (?) level of selectivity? How do you know it’s sent to everyone?
@Ohm888 True, thanks so much for the clarification.
I know about the last term requirement, but where I stand is so unclear given my situation. For what it’s worth my Community College classes end after my OOS college classes, so hopefully my “last term” will be considered as at a Community College…thanks for the help either way though!
