Am I a freshman or a sophmore

Here is a situation- I have finished my freshman year at the University I am attending. Now I am applying to a couple of positions that require to know what year standing are you.

It is Summer right now and I am not attending school. So do I say that I am a freshman(since fall semester did not start yet) or am I a sophmore already (since i successfully recieved 32 college credits during my first year and technically done with it)???

You are a sophomore because you have completed your freshman year. Some people would use the term “rising sophomore” to describe your status, but either way, you are no longer a freshman.

What I usually write on my resume is: “I will be a sophomore at UW-Madison in the fall.”

Insert your school and you’re good to go.

It’s all based on how many credits you’ve completed. So you’re a sophomore. If you want to be unambiguous you can put your total number of credits next to your GPA on your resume.

I’ve never seen a resume of anyone who put “freshman” or “sophomore” or anything in there. You put your expected graduation date, Month/Year.

You are a sophomore. No doubt about it. You have already finished your freshman years and even though it is summer, the fact that you are an incoming sophomore makes you already a sophomore.

Thanks for the tips guys

Yep, sophomore.
