Am I a freshman or sophomore transfer?

Okay, so I'm driving myself crazy and getting myself confused. Plus, I'm sure this question's been asked on cc, I just don't feel like thumbing through hundreds of threads. Hopefully this doesn't sound stupid, but...

I'm currently a freshman and after my freshman year I'll have earned 36 credits. If I'm planning on transferring for the fall 2010 semester, am I considered a sophomore or freshman transfer?

Apparently I put down sophomore transfer for everything. Hopefully that's right!! If not, what should I do??

You should be considered a sophomore since most schools state any college credit over 27 is considered sophomore status. It also depends on the schools program because when i transferred i was declared a freshman since i did not have the amount of credits to qualify for sophomore level.

if this is your first year and you are applying before you have more then 24 credits ( most schools require more than 30), you are considered a freshman.
