Transfer or Freshman?

Yea I'm wondering if I am considered as a transfer or a freshmen because I have accumulated about 40 college quater credits? Plus, i am a senior in high school.

In this accumulation of credits did you actually take classes at a college, or just AP/Honors?

From my understanding a transfer is considered a student going from being matriculated at one college to matriculating at another before finishing a 4 year degree program. So if you did complete enrolled college coursework during HS, you may be considered a transfer student.

I took classes at a university for about 1 and a half year

thus, some of the classes (unless otherwise stated and fully dependent on where you go to college), may not be transferrable.

i think freshman. Most school require 90 quarter units to be junior transfer. It's 45 to be a sophmore, which most schools don't even offer.

Your not considered a transfer if your still in HS. However, once you enter college youll probably be considered a sophmore or whatever.

I agree with the above post. If you look at most college/university rules they will say that a transfer has graduated high school.

On a side note, don't assume that the college/university that you attend will accept those credits (unless you are going to attend the same school). I know of students who took community college or extention classes and their respective universities did not accept most of the credits.
