<p>ok, so im applying to northwestern rd and am a little unsure of my chances. but i was talking to my mom, and she said that my great grandfather attended northwestern. big whoop, yeah. BUT he is chinese (lived in china, school in the US, died in taiwan) and since he attended say 75+ years ago, he was probably one of the first non-white people to attend the university. does this mean anything? (ps he also went to like a couple other spiff-o-rific business schools like yale and the like... will that help me?)</p>

<p>I think on the application it asks if your parents of siblings went to NU - it doesn't go back any further than that, unless, of course, your grandfather bought a building on campus or something...</p>
<p>However... there might be some good essay material there somewhere.</p>
