Hello guys! I am hoping to go to a PhD program in Biomedical Engineering, however I am junior as of now looking to improve. Here is a quick background of myself!
Major: Chemical Engineering
GPA: 3.62
Undergraduate: Top 75 Engineering University. Top 3 University in my state.
GRE: Q- 169 V- 165 (Projected)
Research: Will have 4 years of experience in a biomedical engineering lab. I was published 2 times, one as first author and the other as a co-author. I am confident I will have another one out before this summer. My first author publication was in an undergraduate journal in my freshmen year. Did a summer REU program.
LORs: Will receive strong letters from 3 of my lab supervisors that I have worked with since my freshmen year. One is the head of the ChemE department of my school and the other is the director of the BME graduate program at my university. The other is an established professor in the region. The rest won’t be as strong but will come from PhD student graduates and professors I have worked with over time.
EC’s: I run a large sports page that receives 4-6 million views a week. Worked as a peer advisor, founded a club, had a couple leaderships, etc.
In regards of top 10-15 schools grad programs, where would I stand, and how could I improve?
My dream programs are UC Berkeley, Stanford, Georgia Tech, and John Hopkins.
