Am I able to raise my gpa from 2.78 to a 3.5?

Okay so I’m currently trying to get my self back in order… I’ve been in community college for a billion years… took time off … started a family … the whole bit… I decided that I want to raise my gpa in my community college as much as I can so I can have a better chance of getting into the masters program of my dreams( NYU or Columbia) my gpa is 2.78… at my community college … I want to try to raise it to a 3.5 taking 24 additional credits before transferring to my 4 year school… is it possible or am I tripping?

If you’ve taken 16 credits or fewer so far, it’s mathematically possible with all A’s. If you’ve taken more than 16 credits, it isn’t.

@thecreative15 Depends on how many credits went into your 2.78 GPA. If it is 16 or fewer credits, adding 24 @ 4.0 to 16 @ 2.78 would get your overall GPA to 3.51.

Would Columbia or NYU take you with a 3.5 from community college?
