i am 16 years old and attending an American High school in the 11th grade. I have moved to the U.S 2 years ago with my family. Due to my dad's position we have obtained the green card quicker than the usual. Coming into high school i have faced many difficulties, and my early grades reflect it.However, right now i am taking multiple AP classes; i am doing pretty well.

Am i considered an international applicant?
Will colleges take all of that into account when going over my application?

If you have a green card, you are not considered an international applicant. However, you might want to check universities’ TOEFL requirements just in case, in particular if you have not been attending a US high school since the beginning of 9th grade.

Do talk with your guidance counselor about how to handle the information about your recent arrival in the US. This may be something that he/she can address in a letter of recommendation.

You will need to double-check the TOEFL (or other English proficiency exam) policy at each place that you apply to. Don’t be surprised if each one has a different requirement.
