Hello,
I started college at Cal State Fullerton. I stayed there for a year and received 26 semester credits (all lower division).
After that, I transferred to a community college. I stayed at this CC for a 1.5 years (2 years by the end of Spring 2016), and I would have received anywhere from 55-60 semester credits from this CC by the time I leave/transfer.
Would UCLA consider me a CC transfer?
Thank you so much!
Yes, because it was your most recent academic record. They will combine your units from both schools. Make sure you have followed the transfer requirements for UCLA.
Yes. I can’t find a source, though. I think 20-30 semester units are required from CC to be viewed as a CC transfer, with a CC being your last school. Can’t confirm though.
But yes.

Thank you! And I was wondering whether or not you know how much coursework from a CSU transfers to a UC.
One of the minimum transfer requirements is the completion of 60 transferable semester credits by the end of the semester before transfer. When the admissions personnel at UCLA look at my application, how will they determine whether or not my CSU credits count towards the sixty-credits-requirement? I ask this because I was told that whether or not a course from a CSU is transferable is determined after you are admitted to the school.
@JacobfromCA, generally, the adcom looks at the syllabus from UCLA and they may ask you to provide the syllabus description from some of your classes at Fullerton.
You may have to go to the internet, put in course numbers and course dates and find the “description of the course”. Some may or may not transfer. The courses at the CC tend to be transferable, if, in the catalog and in the articulation agreement, it states “UC transferable for academic credit”.
Good Luck!!
@“aunt bea”
Thank you!
Do you mean that they’ll ask me to send them a syllabus before they make the decision on whether or not to admit me?
No, not really.
They will base your admission on most of your required courses that are similar to their GE descriptors. If there is a class that is questionable, then they will call you in to bring in the course description. You will eventually meet with a registrar who will show you where you are at unit/credit wise.
Check their website to make sure you have covered all of your bases: http://www.admission.ucla.edu/prospect/adm_tr/tradms.htm
